Ducks Honor Memory of Paddy O'Donnell After Brave Cancer Battle

The Ducks confirmed the unfortunate news with a message on their X account:

With a heavy heart we mourn the loss of our friend Paddy O'Donnell, who passed away over the weekend.

We were thrilled to host Paddy and his family two seasons ago at Hockey Fights Cancer Night, where the former goalie spent time postgame with his friend, our own Lukas Dostal.

Our thoughts and best wishes go out to the O'Donnell family and everybody who had the pleasure of bringing Paddy into their lives.

O'Donnell had been a guest of the Ducks for a practice and game for Hockey Fights Cancer night in 2023:

Before the 2023 game in which O'Donnell was the special guest of the Ducks, he was able to spend 1-on-1 time with members of the team, including goaltender Lukas Dostal.

O'Donnell gave fist bumps to the players as they walked out of their tunnel toward the ice for the pre-game warmup.

O'Donnell had also been recognized by the AHL affiliate San Diego Gulls for their Hockey Fights Cancer night earlier in the year.
