Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese sent love to her younger brother Julian Reese following his latest accomplishment.
On Thursday, Angel Reese, 23, posted a picture to her Instagram story congratulating her younger brother on graduating from the University of Maryland. “My ❤’s,” she captioned the post of her brother wearing a red and white stole with the words “student-athlete” embroidered on the left, alongside the school's logo on the right side.
Julian Reese started as a forward for the Terrapins from his sophomore to senior year. The 21-year-old averaged a career-high of 13.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in his 2023-24 campaign. He averaged 11.1 points per game within four years at Maryland.
During this year’s NCAA Tournament, he helped the Terrapins reach the Sweet 16, where they lost 81-71 to the eventual champion Florida Gators. In his final collegiate game, he scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
His sister also played for the Terrapins before transferring to LSU in 2022 to win a national championship. She spent two seasons in Maryland, averaging a double-double of 17.8 points and 10.6 rebounds during the 2021-22 season. In that same season, she also helped the Terrapins reach the Sweet 16, where they lost 72-66 to the Stanford Cardinal.
According to 247sports writer Ben Dickson, her brother, who has not declared for the NBA draft, entered his name into the transfer portal even though his eligibility ran out like many others to see if he can return to college following the House vs NCAA settlement. If he can't play again for another school, he may try to find his way into the NBA to play professional basketball, just like his sister does for the WNBA’s Sky.
