This past week in Thibodaux, Louisiana, the illustrious Manning Passing Academy took place.
While the camp is centered around former NFL star quarterbacks Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning mentoring young players in grades 8-12, college football quarterbacks frequently are also there to help out the youth.
Notable quarterbacks such as Arch Manning (Texas), Ty Simpson (Alabama), Garrett Nussmeier (LSU) and Cade Klubnik were all in attendance as counselors this season, as aside from helping campers, they competed in challenges against one another.
Aside from media members getting a chance to watch some of the best players in the sport work, they also get to chat with the Mannings and counselors. When speaking to the media, Archie Manning revealed that former ESPN NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay helps him compile the list of players whom they invite.
In the same breath, Manning may have also gotten in a jab at McShay's former co-worker, Mel Kiper.
"Todd McShay has always helped me with my list of quarterbacks," Manning said. "He's never been to camp. He came to camp this year...Mel Kiper tries to steal Todd McShay's quarterback list...Todd knows a lot more than Mel Kiper."
While both are well respected in their field, Kiper was on the wrong end of a viral clip during this year's 2025 NFL Draft after he had a meltdown following the draft slide of Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
Regardless of it being a joke or not, getting a Manning stamp of approval certainly doesn't hurt if your McShay.
