Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah will be Big 12 members in 2024. These three will join as the 14th, 15th, and 16th members. This will bring the Big 12 to 16 members next season and they will be the second biggest Power 5 conference.

The Big 12 Board of Directors voted on Thursday to welcome Arizona into the conference. Today after some conversations from many sides they welcomed two more members in Arizona State and the University of Utah. Each team brings their sports that will dominate in the Big 12 and will bring the academics along with the athletics.

Arizona

The Arizona Wildcats have been Pac 12 members since 1978 after leaving the WAC. That move was great for them back then and now they will make this jump and compete in the best basketball conference in college basketball. The Wildcats also will bring with them a growing football program and some women sports who could shock the Big 12 in the next few seasons.

Arizona State

Arizona State were Pac 12 members since 1978 when they followed Arizona out of the WAC. The Sun Devils haven’t left its big brothers side and will follow them once again. This move will be good for them to build their football and basketball programs. They have many other sports who will compete and put up amazing wins the Big 12. Their Football and Basketball programs have ways to go until they have some winning seasons against the other Big 12 members.

Utah

The University of Utah has been Pac 12 member since 2010 after leaving the Mountain West. In their 10 years, they had some great wins and also some conference championships. Utah will look to try and win some basketball and football games here in the next couple of years. The sports that will dominate will be women’s basketball, volleyball, and gymnastics will be huge for them to compete and see success in the Big 12.
