Arizona State to Hire Viral Women’s Basketball Coach from Grand Canyon
Joe Rondone/The Republic / USA TODAY

Arizona State has reportedly agreed to hire Grand Canyon's Molly Miller as their next head women's basketball coach, a source told Talia Goodman of On3.

The Sun Devils are moving on from Natasha Adair, who posted a 29-62 record in three seasons at Arizona State, and is coming off a disappointing 10-22 record in 2024-25.

Miller is coming off a successful tenure at Grand Canyon which began in 2020 and culminated in her winning the WAC Coach of the Year this season.

The Lopes went 32-2 overall and won the WAC championship, earning the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament bid.

The team also had a remarkable 30 game winning streak this season, dominating in conference play and making headlines for a program that already endured plenty of success under Miller, including four straight years of 20 or more wins despite not being able to break through and win a conference championship.

Prior to joining Grand Canyon, Miller was the head coach at Drury University at the Division II level for six seasons, and now she'll look to lead Arizona State as they work to compete in the Big 12 conference.

The timing of the announcement drew plenty of attention, as it was reported mere hours after GCU was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament, while others couldn't help but point out Miller's striking resemblance to LSU Tigers gymnast and social media influencer Livvy Dunne.

Regardless, Arizona State was in desperate need of a change, and Miller's track record of success should help elevate this program to new heights starting in 2025-26.
