Tottenham Hotspur have been one of the most active clubs in the summer transfer window so far. They have been linked with moves or credited with interest in so many players but have only managed to sign two of them – Mohammed Kudus from West Ham and Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich.
In all fairness, both players are excellent additions to Thomas Frank’s squad and have already settled in, quite admirably. Kudus has made the right-wing position his own in this short span of time while Palhinha against Manchester City in Spurs’ 2-0 win rolled the clock back to his Fulham days.
However, with just a few days left to go in the summer transfer window, new signings could be on the cards for Tottenham. One player that the North London club were linked with was Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson who is out of the project at Chelsea under Enzo Maresca.

Now, as per journalist Christian Falk, Bayern Munich have now reached an agreement to sign the 24-year-old Senegalese striker. Negotiations are ongoing with Chelsea but everything seems sorted on the player’s end.
The German giants are looking to loan in the talented striker. They possibly view him as an alternative to Harry Kane who can also play in the wide positions, thus not affecting his game time.
Interestingly, Bayern had Mathys Tel in this role until last season, using him as Kane’s backup and also as a winger on occasions. However, he has made a permanent move to join Tottenham this summer and this has opened up a slot at the German club.
This might have been one of the reasons Spurs never actually moved to sign Jackson, considering they already had Tel in the ranks. The Senegalese international is a good talent in his own right and has been a key member for Chelsea for the past couple of seasons.
Regardless, this isn’t necessarily a signing that Tottenham are in desperate need of. Thus, it comes as no surprise to see their reluctance to move for the 24-year-old. Should his move to Bayern Munich go through, it would be interesting to see how Jackson fares in the Bundesliga and how his career develops.
