After Caleb Williams performed at the USC Pro Day and met with members of the Chicago Bears, the young quarterback sat down with Colin Cowherd. On 'The Herd with Colin Cowherd', the projected No. 1 pick answered the notion of being compared to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.

Bears Get A Mahomes-like QB in Caleb Williams

Cowherd asked Williams, "The comp with Mahomes, what do you make of it?" Williams responded:

Bears fans can rejoice after hearing that. One of the biggest stains in recent memory for Chicago fans was the 2017 NFL draft. Not only did the Bears pass on quarterback Deshaun Watson after he led the Clemson Tigers to a championship win over Alabama in the College Football Playoffs, but they also missed out on Patrick Mahomes.

The Bears took quarterback Mitchell Trubisky in that draft and it ended badly after a few years. Fans remember all too well how frustrating those years were and how badly the front office butchered the Bears' future.

But seven years later, the Chicago Bears have another chance. They have the unique opportunity to select a franchise-altering talent at the quarterback position and after trading Justin Fields to Pittsburgh, we know the direction they're going in the NFL draft.

Caleb Williams might not be Patrick Mahomes. But he can make plays similar to the Super Bowl-winning quarterback and that's something Bears fans haven't seen before in the rich Chicago history.
