The Chicago Bears added another offensive piece to the roster with the ninth pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. After the Atlanta Falcons took his Washington counterpart, Michael Penix Jr., the Bears selected wide receiver Rome Odunze.
Odunze had been rumored to be selected by Chicago after attending a throwing session with Caleb Williams, Keenan Allen, and DJ Moore.
The 21-year-old product out of Washington stands 6'3" and weighs just over 215 pounds. Odunze has elite-level ball skills, can be used in the slot, and wins battles vertically.
Over four years at Washington, Rome Odunze caught 214 passes for nearly 3,300 yards and 24 touchdowns.
Odunze can dominate single coverage at the line of scrimmage and down the field at the catch point, according to scout Tom Kavanaugh.
Rome Odunze adds a dynamic piece to the Chicago Bears offense alongside Keenan Allen and DJ Moore. The Washington wide receiver previously stated the Bears would have an explosive offense if they selected him as well as Caleb Williams.
