Bennett Warren Recaps Oregon Visit, Locks in Official Visit

During the trip he spent time with multiple members of the staff including Cutter Leftwich, Carlos Locklyn and Dan Lanning. However he spent a majority of his time with new offensive line coach A'lique Terry, who continues to be a hit with recruits after being hired in February. 

"The energy he brings," Warren said on what stands out about Terry. "He's a really hyper dude, but he really understands what he's doing."

Terry's wealth of coaching experience is just a small part of what's helped the two start to build a strong connection.

"He may be young but he's been coaching at the Vikings, he's coached at a couple places around the country. He's got his experience and he shows a lot of love. That's a big thing. He's just a fun person to be around."

Warren got to spend a couple of days in Eugene and returned home to Texas with one aspect of the visit taking the cake.

"I'd probably say watching the practice was my favorite part. Just the environment that they create on that practice field. They got the music going. Everybody's hype, going through practice. At the end of practice the offensive line brought us into their ending huddle."

After seeing the practice, touring the facilities and meeting with coaches, the towering offensive lineman says Oregon is sending a clear message in his recruitment.

"That the Ducks are there to stay," he told Ducks Digest. "They're there to make their statement as being one of my all-time favorite schools."

Warren is still figuring out what his trips will look like in the spring but he has two official visits locked in.

"I don't have anything planned for the spring. But I do have an Oregon OV June 23-25 and an Oklahoma OV June 16-18."

The Lone Star State standout has amassed nearly 30 scholarship offers but said he's hearing the most from a select group of schools.

"Oregon, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, FSU and LSU."

With his official visit picture coming into focus, he's starting to mull over a decision timeline.

"Either I'm going to have it wrapped up right before the season or I'm going to do it like halfway through the season, probably before districts starts."

Warren is looking for a home away from home type of feel among other things at his school of choice.

"It's definitely a place where I feel like I can like myself," he said. "I can be me around the coaches, I can be me around the players but at the same time, I know when spring practice starts and that season starts that it's go time and I got top put my head down and just keep working because nothing comes easy."
