The Buffalo Bills have some difficult decisions ahead of them as the roster cutdown deadline rapidly approaches. However, for Buffalo, one of its decisions may have been made. Receiver Tyrell Shavers had maybe the best preseason touchdown we've ever seen. An impressive one-handed grab that's a product of his hard work and dedication, fighting to earn his spot on the roster. After his score, one thing was certain: he may have cemented his spot on the roster, and rightfully so.

With a defender draped all over him, absorbing the contact while tracking the ball, he was able to secure the grab. Initially, the officiating crew ruled it an incomplete pass. Nevertheless, a quick review had the Bills Mafia ready to find the nearest folding table with the touchdown standing.

Shavers has been battling in a crowded receiving room to make a name for himself. He's flashed throughout camp and during the preseason, but this felt like an exclamation point. Shavers looks ready to help Josh Allen and the offense compete at a high level, with him playing an important contributing role. It was already difficult for the team to keep him off the field with his previous performance; now it looks to be a certainty.

Lost in the shuffle of his touchdown, Shavers made another impact on the ensuing kickoff by helping push the runner out of bounds. Head coach Sean McDermott discussed that to make the roster if you're lower on the pecking order, you need to find additional ways to contribute. Doing some dirty work in special teams will go a long way.

Shavers making an impact on special teams

Speaking of special teams, let's take a look at Shavers' stats through the team's first two preseason games. Against the Giants and the Bears, he appeared in 12 total special teams snaps. With four being on the kick return, three on kick coverage, four on punt return, and one on punt coverage. He's getting the reps in, proving his value in more ways than one.

For now, we're just going to watch the touchdown on repeat and wait for the team to make it official that he's on the roster. He's been a camp darling and a fan-favorite. It looks like that hard work is going to pay off big for him.
