The Chicago Blackhawks made a pair of roster moves ahead of Wednesday night’s game in Seattle. The team activated defenseman Caleb Jones from long-term injured reserve and placed forward Tyler Johnson on LTIR (retroactive to October 29).

Jones has yet to appear in a regular-season game so far in the 2021-22 campaign. The blue-liner suffered a left wrist strain that resulted in an LTIR stint beginning on October 11.

Before leaving for the Western road trip, head coach Derek King said Caleb Jones would take warmups Wednesday in Seattle. In a bit of a surprising move, Jones will play tonight vs. the Kraken. The Blackhawks will go with 11 forwards and seven defensemen.

Tyler Johnson exited the Blackhawks’ October 29th game at Carolina early due to neck soreness. That same ailment, which has now turned into an LTIR designation, plus a COVID-19 Protocol stint has kept him out of action since the aforementioned game.
