Bo Jackson Talks Oregon Offer, Latest in Recruitment

Carlos Locklyn and the Oregon Ducks are looking to sign another two running backs in the 2025 class after recently adding Da'Jaun Riggs and Jay Harris from the 2024 cycle.

The latest ballcarrier to land an offer from Oregon is Cleveland (OH) Villa Angela-St. Joseph standout Bo Jackson . He took some time to speak with Ducks Digest about the offer and the latest developments in a recruitment that alreadt features 13 reported scholarships.

"I was very surprised. I wasn't really expecting that offer yet," he said of his reaction to the offer."I was super happy. He (Carlos Locklyn) called me, got on the phone, told me Merry Christmas. We talked, we had a real good talk. I like Coach Locklyn."

The Ducks haven't historically signed many players from Ohio, but the 6-foot, 209-pound back is well aware of the Oregon program and all of its success.

"It's a big-time football program," Jackson said. "They're joining the Big Ten, so a lot of their games are going to be over here by the Northeast, so that's pretty good."

The running back's relationship with Locklyn is just in its early stages and he reflected on his first impression of the Oregon coach.

"He sounded real genuine. He told me how he likes to build relationships with his player even if I don't commit or go to their school he always like building the relationships. I liked that, he seemed real genuine with that."

The touted back was able to take gameday visits to Penn State and West Virginia this season and has some schools he'd like to see when he starts taking junior day trips.

"Schools that I haven't seen that I want to see and try to get to a junior day is schools like South Carolina, Tennessee, and Oregon," Jackson said. "I'm trying to get down there, I don't know how I'm going to do that. Places like that."

What's he looking for at his next spot?

"I'm going to look at how they use their running backs and I'm looking for a good connection with the head coach and running back coaches. I want the running back to be very versatile. I want them to run the ball and I want them to throw the ball out of the backfield."

Jackson doesn't have any timeline that he's working from on his recruitment, but he shared what he thinks people should know about him as a premier running back nationally.

"I feel like I'm a very well-rounded running back," he said. "I feel like I'm very strong, fast, I can catch. I feel like I'm good at everything."
