Who does Boise State miss on the Mountain West schedule?

Hawaii, San Jose State, Wyoming

The only positive when it comes to missing Hawaii is not having to make that long trip - but that wouldn't even a factor this year after going to Honolulu in 2024.

The same goes for Wyoming. The Broncos had to deal with the dangerous date at Laramie last season, and it would've been a home game this time around.

Missing San Jose State now under Ken Niumatalolo is a plus.

Boise State State football schedule, the good and the bad

The Good: The Broncos don't have a horrible travel schedule after the first five games. Four of the next six games are at home before finishing with a winnable date at Utah State.

If you're going to go on the road, Air Force, Nevada, San Diego State - all three will be better, but those were three of the four worst teams in the Mountain West last season.

The Bad: Those first five weeks will be interesting. Going to USF to start the season is rough - GOOD LUCK with Tampa weather on August 30th. Air Force is a tough road game - really, it'll be better - Appalachian State isn't a layup, and going to Notre Game hurts.

Boise State Football Schedule: Best and worst case scenarios

Best Case Scenario: The Broncos reload in a hurry and are more than fine in a statement win over USF to start the season. They get past Air Force on the way to a 4-0 start before the Notre Dame game.

There aren't any problems in Mountain West play with home games against UNLV, Fresno State, and Colorado State helping. There's no issue getting to the Mountain West Championship on the way to another trip to the College Football Playoff.

Worst Case Scenario: A loss at USF sours the season from the start, a loss at Air Force makes things worse, and the team is 2-3 after going to South Bend.

Realistically, the Broncos don't have too many issues in Mountain West play, but a stunning home loss to, say, UNLV, and a stubbed-toe loss at San Diego State are crushing.

Season Prediction: (Feb 21) Boise State does need a few things to go its way personnel-wise, but it'll be tough to go better than 10-2. USF is more than just dangerous, the Notre Dame trip is a likely loss, and there will be a miss somewhere else. For anyone else it'll be a great year. Boise State isn't just anyone.

The Season Prediction will be updated several times this offseason
