Hampshire defeated Durham in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup women's competition with a bonus point thanks to Maia Bouchier and Charli Knott's easy chase of 191.

Bouchier continued to regain her confidence following a challenging winter with England, smashing 53, her third half-century of the summer. Knott impressed with her first half-century of the competition in the One-Day Cup, as Hampshire rallied from a three-run deficit with 74 balls left.

Phoebe Turner had previously top-scored with 38, but Hampshire's spinners, highlighted by Knott's two and astonishingly frugal stints from Linsey Smith and Bex Tyson, held Durham to a low total.

Durham chose to bat but lost Emily Marlow in the first five overs as Lauren Bell cannoned into her off stump and outpaced her. Suzie Bates looked the most composed of the Durham batters, scoring a brisk 26 from 28 deliveries, which ended when she pulled Bell straight to midwicket.

After displaying self-control for 92 balls, Mady Villiers and Hollie Armitage were only able to score 40 more runs until Smith caught and bowled Villiers, and Tyson caught Armitage after he missed a sweep. Smith was superb, giving away just 25 runs in her full quota of 10 overs, while Tyson, also impressive, picked up 1 for 29 with her tidy left-arm spin. However, it was the off-spinner Knott who took wickets after using a bail trimmer to bowl Katherine Fraser and pinning Leah Dobson leg-before.
