In just a few weeks, boxing fans will finally get the matchup they’ve been waiting years for: Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford. Two of the sport’s pound-for-pound greats, both dominant for over a decade, will step into the ring to settle the question of who truly sits on top.
It’s easily the biggest fight of the year and one of the most intriguing in recent memory. Naturally, analysts have been breaking down every angle, from styles to weaknesses, and one observation in particular has caught attention: a certain “lazy” habit in Canelo’s game that Crawford could use to his advantage.

Wade Plemons, a boxing analyst and host of the ‘W.A.D.E Concept’ shared his thoughts on a particular hole he has observed in Alvarez’s game that Crawford should and can exploit.
He said, “The way I look at this fight is it’s very difficult for me to see Terence Crawford winning by knockout. I think the path to victory for Crawford is to be able to counter Canelo when he comes in with lazy footwork, or when he stands flat-footed, or when he throws only one or two at a time, and Crawford can throw three, four and five.”
Amir Khan has officially stepped into life after boxing, moving into the promotional side of the sport. Just last month, the former unified junior welterweight champion staged a card in Accra, Ghana, headlined by Andrew Tabiti vs. Jacob Dickson.
Khan, now 38, had an exciting career of his own and remains the only fighter to have shared the ring with both Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford. Things didn’t go his way in either fight—Canelo knocked him out brutally in 2016, and Crawford stopped him with a body shot in 2019—but Khan later trained alongside Crawford before hanging up the gloves.
With Canelo and Crawford set to collide on September 13 in Las Vegas, Khan has given his take. He praised Crawford’s guts for taking on such a dangerous opponent, believes Canelo may be vulnerable, and backed his friend “Bud” to win, highlighting Crawford’s sharp boxing IQ and underrated power.
