From high school baseball just a few months ago to the professional level, Braves 2025 first-round selection Tate Southisene made his debut with the organization last week and is coming off his first multi-hit performance on Sunday.

Southisene would finish the afternoon 3-for-5 with two extra-base hits (double, triple) while playing shortstop for the Braves low-A affiliate.
The fact that the Braves even felt comfortable immediately throwing him into the fire is a very encouraging sign, and he’s already flashing some of the tools that make him such an attractive prospect. He has tremendous bat to ball skills, and there’s clearly some pop in his swing, even though he’s still just 18-years-old.
But Southisene’s calling card is his athleticism. He has elite speed that will allow him to play wherever the Braves see fit. This is a really exciting start for the headliner of Atlanta’s 2025 draft class.
