After a handful of months as a Minnesota commitment, defensive lineman Torin Pettaway re-flipped his commitment back to the Wisconsin football program. Pettaway spoke about his decision and felt that Wisconsin was both truly his home, and the best opportunity to succeed in the future. The defensive lineman announced his commitment to the Wisconsin football program on X after heavily debating his decision.

The Wisconsin football staff has welcomed Pettaway back with open arms as they feel he is an impact player on defense. Pettaway certainly has the tools and natural ability to dominate for Wisconsin, which could happen sooner rather than later.

Pettaway Adds Combination of Speed, Size Wisconsin Football Has Struggled to Find 

There is no doubt that Pettaway is a big dude, standing in at 6-feet-5-inches, and weighing roughly 265-pounds. The lineman is massive and his size on paper truly does not do enough justice when trying to accurately describe Pettaway. As big as he is, however, the lineman possesses incredible speed when both lined up on the edge or as a tackle.

No matter where you put Pettaway along the line, his combination of speed and size make it incredibly difficult for one blocker to stop him. If the offense does not have someone fast enough with their feet to block Pettaway, it is going to be a long day in the backfield for the defensive lineman. Pettaway is also an accomplished basketball player, which can also be seen on the football field when Pettaway cuts through the offense line as if he is driving through the lane.

Can the Defensive Lineman Find a Role Within the Wisconsin Badgers Football Defense? 

For Pettaway, finding a role in the Wisconsin football defense might be a tough task given the amount of talent at the position. However, Pettaway does offer something that the line currently struggles with and that is incredible speed for his size. Pettaway still possesses amazing power in his movements as well, but with his combination of speed and size it could be difficult for Wisconsin to leave him off the field.
