Brendan Schaub was recently given the scary task of roasting some of the world’s most dangerous men.

The former UFC heavyweight contender has transitioned to become a comedian and podcaster since retiring in 2015.

‘Big Brown’ is known for sharing his hot takes about MMA and boxing on his popular YouTube channel.

This past weekend, Brendan Schaub did something similar on stage at the Ring Awards in New York.

Brendan Schaub mocks Canelo Alvarez

Boxing’s most powerful man, Turki Alalshikh, invited Brendan Schaub to the annual awards ceremony.

The 42-year-old former fighter was told to share his thoughts on boxing and roast some of the famous faces in attendance.

So he grabbed the mic and joked about Canelo Alvarez avoiding a fight with ‘The Mexican Monster’ David Benavidez.

“I said, I think you don’t get enough credit for defense,” Schaub recalled on The Fighter and The Kid podcast he co-hosts with Bryan Callen.

“The way you dodge punches, jabs, uppercuts, David Benavidez.

“And then I stared at him and was all (sheepish).”

Schaub went on to reveal how the former undisputed super middleweight champion reacted to his joke.

The 10-5 MMA veteran added about Canelo: “He was like this (folds arms).

“And then he goes (nods head). Usyk was laughing, though. Oh yeah, Usyk was laughing.”

Canelo Alvarez’s next fight

Canelo Alvarez hasn’t fought since being outpointed by Terence Crawford in September.

However, it has been revealed that he will return to the ring on September 12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

‘It’s currently unclear who Canelo’s comeback opponent will be, but Turki Alalshikh insists that boxing’s biggest star will have another huge fight.

“It will be named ‘Mexico against the World’”, the Saudi boxing chief confirmed.

“All the fighters from the team of Canelo against the world and the champion in the main event, in a world title [fight].

“It will be a surprise in Saudi Arabia. Inshallah.”
