Liverpool are making it a habit of scoring three goals a game and taking over 24 shots. However, this trip to Brentford does not seem as easy as fans might think.
Brentford have proven that they are not pushovers and are here to fight. They have lost less Premier League games than Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Leicester City. Hence, if Liverpool want to continue their unbeaten run, they will have to make their chances count.
We might continue to see some rotation. Jurgen Klopp might toy with the idea of starting either Takumi Minamino or Divock Origi alongside Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah. Roberto Firmino might get a chance off the bench to get back into rhythm.
In midfield we could see a midfield three of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and James Milner. This is surely an industrious midfield who should be able to run any opponent out of steam.
In defence, we could see our best four defenders back in action. Andrew Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Trent Alexander Arnold all should start with Alisson Becker in goal.
If Liverpool want to ensure their defensive record stays as good as it is, we need to have our best defensive live-up playing. We could see Neco Williams or James Milner come off the bench to help see the game through.
This game comes to soon for Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita and Harvey Elliott. Out of these three, Thiago and Keita should be back in the next few days, however Elliott is the only long-term absentee.
Brentford under Thomas Frank have been outstanding this season. They haven’t been phased by the Premier League at all. In fact, they’ve grasped this chance with both hands.
The Bees will go into this game full of confidence after a convincing midweek 7-0 win in the League Cup and a well fought 2-0 win over Wolves last weekend in the Premier League.
Frank has figured out his best eleven who have managed to deliver on the big stage. Ten players have started each of Brentford's Premier League games this season. Hence, figuring out the starting line-up and tactics wouldn’t be too much of a headache for the visitors.
Defender, Pontus Jansson is one to get needless bookings and playing against a swift Liverpool front three, he will have to be careful so as to not get booked in this game. Given his lack of pace, he might end up having a long night.
This game surely is going to be one of their toughest tests till date. It is hard to see anything but a win for the visitors. But if there is a game as unpredictable as possible, its football.
Liverpool’s fire power looks to be a little too much for Brentford’s defence. This game will not be a walk over for Liverpool, but should be a comfortable win.
