Broncos Second-Round Pick Sends One-Word Message to Latest Claim

The Denver Broncos selected UCF running back RJ Harvey in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Sean Payton and the Broncos envision Harvey as the team's new lead running back, capable of being on the field on all three downs.

During the Broncos' rookie minicamp, Harvey was getting his first chance to practice as a member of the Broncos. With a lot of attention on how the rookies look, one user on X posted that Harvey "... Dropped three passes at practice today."

Nine minutes later, Harvey responded to that claim with a one emoji "." Harvey's emoji is of a cap, which represents that the user is 'capping' or, in other words, lying.

Harvey's one-word, or in this case, one-emoji response, denies the claim that he dropped three passes during practice. While Harvey is best known for his rushing ability, he has also shown to be a solid receiver at UCF.

In 2024, Harvey caught 20 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns, dropping two passes. In 2023, Harvey caught 19 passes for 238 yards and two touchdowns, with one drop. In 2022, Harvey caught 23 passes for 217 yards and no touchdowns, while dropping two passes.

Across his collegiate career, he's dropped five passes. It isn't the main part of his game, but his ability to catch passes might be something to monitor during the season.

However, in this instance, during the Broncos' rookie minicamp, Harvey shut down the claim from a Broncos fan that he dropped three passes during practice.

It was his first time practicing as a member of the Broncos, and he's already dealing with trolls and wild claims. If Harvey can ignore the noise and put it behind him, he could be in line for a massive season with Bo Nix and the Broncos offense.
