Browns Owner Jim Haslam Announces Head-Turning Arch Manning Comments

If there's one position that the Cleveland Browns haven't had any luck with for decades, it is the quarterback position.

Such is the franchise's current predicament that Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders are who Kevin Stefanski has to work with. And we aren't even mentioning Deshaun Watson.

That's what makes the NFL Draft next offseason rather interesting, with the Browns expected to have a high pick, and as we know, quarterbacks are taken rather high. Which brings us to Texas quarterback Arch Manning and the potential that the Browns might be able to take the star signal-caller.

But for Browns owner Jim Haslam, when asked about that, he was rather honest in his response.

“If you know the Manning family -- and I don’t know Arch at all -- I'd bet he stays in college two years. I don’t think that’s worth discussing," Haslam said.

The Browns haven't had much luck with quarterbacks, and going by Haslam's words, if they were interested in Arch, they're going to have to wait a couple of years before he enters the draft.

And Cleveland would hope that in two years' time, it won't be in a position to draft Manning because it would mean the poor seasons have continued.

So, it is full steam ahead with their current crop of quarterbacks, headlined by Flacco, and it is going to be interesting to see how the depth chart shakes out over the coming weeks and who gets snaps in the preseason games.

Flacco appears to be the starter, but behind him, it is up for debate.

But what isn't is the Browns knowing that Arch Manning won't be in the NFL any time soon.
