Josiah Martin, a three-star wide receiver from Guyer High School in Denton, Texas, committed to Cal for 2024 by way of social media on Sunday.
The 6-foot, 170-pound Martin had previously committed to Boston College before de-committing and subsequently committing to Cal.
He claimed to have offers from Alabama, Penn State, Mississippi, Oregon, Tennessee, Utah, Missouri, Wisconsin and a number of other schools.
Martin is the 13 players to commit to Cal for the class of 2024, and six of the 13 are from Texas.
Martin had committed to Boston College in June, then de-committed on September 29. He officially visited Cal on December 1, and committed to the Golden Bears two days later.
Steve Wilfong of 247 Sports noted in a tweet that Martin enjoyed his visit to Cal, enjoyed the campus and was attracted by the fact that he might be able to play as a freshman. The presence of Mike Bloesch as the Golden Bears' new offensive coordinator also played a role.:
