The New York Giants took a flier on one of college football's most intriguing prospects, former Arizona State star Cam Skattebo, with the 105th overall pick. in the 2025 NFL draft.
Skattebo, the runaway star of the 2025 Peach Bowl, turned heads with his powerful, low-to-the-ground running style and versatility as a runner, receiver, and passer on trick plays.
On Wednesday, the former Sun Devils star joined the St. Brown Podcast, revealing his surprising memories about this year's draft process and how things worked out differently than he initially expected.
He also had a clear two-word response while describing the feeling of being taken by coach Brian Daboll's team in round number four.
"I knew it was going to be probably mid-to-late third (round), potentially fourth, early fourth" Skattebo told hosts Equanimeous St. Brown and Amon-Ra St. Brown in footage shared Wednesday.
"I actually thought I was going to end up going to San Francisco with that 100th pick," the former Sun Devils star said.
He then went to bed after not getting chosen by coach Kyle Shanahan's team.
"We knew it was going to be within the first ten picks (of the fourth round)," Skattebo added.
"Then, and then Giants called, and...Emotions poured," Skattebo said, admitting the feelings he felt upon being chosen to play for the New York based franchise.
"I actually thought I was going to go to San Francisco with that 100th pick."

Skattebo is expected to battle running backs Tyrone Tracy Jr., Devin Singletary and Eric Gray for carries in the Giants' offense, which is expected to start the season with Russell Wilson behind center at the quarterback position.
