Canelo Pushes Crawford; Dana White Intervenes

Canelo Alvarez pushed Terence Crawford during their second presser, which took place in New York, before their September 13 fight.

Canelo defends his Undisputed Super Middleweight Title, which he picked up for the second time after beating William Scull in his last fight. It was not his best performance, which was not helped by Scull’s reluctance to engage, as the fight had the lowest number of punches recorded. Meanwhile, Crawford jumps up from 154, having beaten Israil Madrimov in his last bout.

The win made him a four-weight world champion, as he picked up the 154-pound belt. The perception is that Canelo’s weight advantage will prove too much, although Crawford is confident of coming out with a win. Max Kellerman will join the broadcast team for The Ring. It is also Dana White’s first boxing event since the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor fight in 2017. White was forced to act to separate the two fighters after Canelo shoved Crawford at the face-off.
