Cardinals legend Kurt Warner throwing Diamondbacks’ Opening Day first pitch

Warner was a four-time Pro Bowler, Super Bowl XXXIV champion and MVP, and two-time first-team All-Pro selection in the NFL.

After six years with the Rams and a single season with the New York Giants (2004), Warner signed a one-year contract to join Arizona in 2005 and it was history ever since.

While on the Cardinals, he played 61 games (57 starts) through five seasons (2005-09). He totaled 15,843 yards from 1,371-of-2,105 passing and connected on 100 touchdowns exactly.

Because of this, Warner was also inducted into the Cards’ Ring of Honor for his storied career with the franchise. In 2008, the Iowa native was a Pro Bowl and All-Pro selection while also in the MVP race.

He would retire in 2010 but there were rumblings in 2014 that he come out of it and return to the Cardinals. However, Warner ultimately decided not to make a comeback while Drew Stanton and Carson Palmer were both injured at the same time.

The 2017 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee will now get to rev up his throwing arm in front of the D’Backs and its fans at Chase Field tonight. Arizona faces Colorado at 7:10 p.m. PT.
