Cardinals Read: Notre Dame Hosts Final Showdown for Men’s Tennis Fall Season

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The UofL men’s tennis team wrapped up their fall action at the Notre Dame Invitational over the weekend, facing off against various opponents over a three-day span.

The Cardinals had a solid performance with a 12-10 record in singles matches and a 5-6 record in doubles matches. Each player on the team secured at least one win in both singles and doubles.

The veterans Natan Rodrigues and Matthew Fung had a strong showing, finishing the weekend with a 2-1 record as a doubles pair and a 2-2 and 3-0 record, respectively, in singles.

The freshmen trio of Piet Steveker, Kosuke Nakanishi, and Miguel Avendaño also contributed to the team’s success with a combined 5-7 record in singles. Additionally, sophomore Andre’ Steinbach added two victories for Louisville.

Looking ahead, UofL men’s tennis will be back in action in January for varsity play. The full spring championship schedule will be announced in December.
