The No. 22/19 Louisville women’s basketball team (7-1) is back in Louisville after a string of away games, ready to take on a series of home games. They will start this stretch with a game against North Carolina A&T (3-3) at the KFC Yum! Center this Sunday at 12 p.m. ET.

The Cardinals are coming off a three-game win streak, including a 64-58 road win over No. 19/20 Ole Miss in the ACC/SEC Challenge. They managed to overcome a halftime deficit and went on a 7-0 run in the third quarter to secure the win. This game marked the Cardinals’ 37th consecutive win when holding opponents to 59 points or less.

Nina Rickards has been a key player for the Cardinals this season, particularly since she was inserted into the starting lineup. Since then, the team has won all three games, including the ACC/SEC Challenge and the Betty Chancellor Classic. Rickards has scored in double figures in every game she has started, with a season-high 16 points against Gonzaga. She leads the team in assists per game (3.1), is second in rebounds (5.3), and fourth in points (9.9) per game.

Kiki Jefferson has also been a standout player for the Cardinals in recent weeks, scoring in double figures in the last three games. She scored a team-high 21 points against Gonzaga and 16 points against Ole Miss. Jefferson has been an excellent free throw shooter for the team, shooting 86.2 percent from the line.

North Carolina A&T comes into Sunday’s matchup with a 3-3 overall record. They have not played since November 25, where they suffered losses to Saint Mary’s and UT Arlington. The Aggies have had some wins against common opponents with the Cardinals, including a victory over Liberty. They are also a strong free throw shooting team, ranking 27th in the country with 16.3 free throws made per game and shooting 77.2 percent from the line.

This will be the first-ever meeting between Louisville and North Carolina A&T. The Cardinals previously faced Bucknell for the first time this season and secured a 77-44 victory.
