The Louisville Cardinals are gearing up to face off against the Duke Blue Devils in their last regular season home game at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. The match, set to take place on Thursday night at 6 p.m. ET, will be streamed on the ACC Network Extra.

The Cardinals have proven themselves to be strong competitors at home, particularly in their defensive efforts this season. All three of their shutouts have come at home, showcasing their ability to limit their opponents’ offensive chances. In a recent draw against Virginia, a team that had scored 20 goals in seven games leading up to the match, the Cardinals held them to just one goal. In their 3-2 victory over Pitt, the Cardinals managed to keep the Panthers below their season average and handed them only their second loss of the season. Overall, in their nine home games this year, the Cardinals have only allowed 10 goals, faced 38 shots on goal, and dealt with 74 shots in total.

Furthermore, the Cardinals have proven to perform well against ranked or previously ranked opponents at home. They secured a 1-1 draw against then-ranked No. 20 Virginia earlier in the season, marking the first point the Cardinals had ever earned against the Cavaliers in the series history. In their victory over Pitt, though the Panthers were not ranked at the time, they are currently ranked 20th in the most recent coaches poll.

In their previous home game on October 8th, the Cardinals emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Syracuse on Senior Day. Freshman Betsy Huckaby showcased her skills by scoring her first career goal in the second half, and Emersen Jennings sealed the victory with her second goal of the year.

This upcoming match will be the 10th encounter between the Cardinals and the Blue Devils. In the series history, the Cardinals have struggled with a 0-4-5 record against the Blue Devils. In the previous two matchups held in Louisville, the Cardinals have managed a 0-1-1 record.
