Unrestricted free agent forward Chuma Okeke is finalizing a contract with European power Real Madrid, meaning he won’t be returning to the Cavaliers, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Okeke, 26, signed with the Cavs in April and appeared in nine regular-season games total last season with Cleveland and the Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 5.9 points and 5.2 rebounds, shooting 50 percent from the field.

He reportedly was drawing little interest from NBA teams, but had plenty of overseas suitors.

“Okeke, who drew several EuroLeague offers, was the 16th pick of the 2019 NBA Draft,” Scotto wrote. “The 26-year-old has averaged 6.3 points and 3.8 rebounds in five NBA seasons.”

Along with the Cavaliers and Sixers, Okeke played for the Orlando Magic from 2019-24. He missed his entire first NBA season with a knee injury.

Okeke carries NBA career averages of 6.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists, shooting 38.7 percent from the field and 32.1 percent on threes, in 198 total appearances.

Sources told Hoops Wire he also drew some interest from the Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards and Denver Nuggets. Cleveland did not express an interest in bringing him back after declining the player option on his contract and sending him into unrestricted free agency.
