Ticket demand for the 2025 Backyard Brawl between West Virginia and Pittsburgh is through the roof, and fans hoping to see the game in person will need to be prepared to pay a premium.
According to SeatGeek, the cheapest available ticket is currently listed at $277, with most options priced well above that point.

That number easily doubles the average price for a typical West Virginia home game, which usually hovers around $140. When it comes to demand, no other WVU or Pitt matchup this fall comes close to touching it.
There’s no face-value option available through the schools themselves either. West Virginia is only offering the 304 Mobile Pass for $304, which grants access to all six home games but doesn’t guarantee a seat for this one. On the Pitt side, tickets are only available through third-party vendors or in bundles.
The rivalry, which dates back to 1895, hasn’t lost its edge in the new era of college football. If anything, the rarity of this game being played in Morgantown has added fuel to the fire. The last time West Virginia hosted the Backyard Brawl, Milan Puskar Stadium was a madhouse. Fans clearly remember what that atmosphere felt like, and prices now reflect the buzz.
If you’re aiming to be in the stadium on game day, brace yourself. The only way in right now is through the resale market, and even the worst seat in the house might cost more than your last car payment.
