Chelsea Green achieved her first victory in more than 154 days, nabbing at  WWE NXT Heatwave in Lowell, Massachusetts. She competed in a mixed-tag team match with NXT North American Champion Ethan Page.

A Bloody Battle

The match was energetic, and those involved went for broke at multiple points of the match.

  • Tavion Heights and Tyra Mae Steele were gelling early, and it took a couple of minutes to get the match to the pace they wanted.
  • Soon after, Ethan Page took some tough hits, including a suplex and a big boot to the face. Before finally tagging in Chelsea Green.
  • The momentum changed when Tavion crashed headfirst into the ring post. This mistake gave Green and Page the opportunity they were looking for.

The crowd went wild as Chelsea Green finally broke the drought, officially ending five months of no points while regaining some much-needed confidence.

How the Rivalry Began

This incoming clash began on the August 19 episode of NXT. In an establishing segment, Page and Chelsea Green made attempts to evoke national pride by brokering a fictional peace accord between Canada and the United States. Tavion and Olympic Gold Medalist Tyra Mae Steele clashed with Page after his loud claims about Canada’s superiority, leading to the intense battle at Heatwave.

The win not only gave the confidence to Chelsea Green confidence but also showed the fans her potential. After months of setbacks, she finally seems ready to put the struggles behind her and aim for bigger opportunities back on the main roster, or if they plan on having her around NXT for a while longer.

How WWE Can Better Utilize Chelsea Green After Her Win

WWE has the perfect opportunity to capitalize on this win by allowing her to be in more programs, regardless if it’s on the main roster or NXT, giving her the opportunity to further develop her in-ring work, while also showcasing her charisma and personality with more mic time and character-driven segments. If anything was proven in her short excursion back to NXT, Chelsea Green has got it.
