Cincinnati Football Lands First Commitment in 2025 Class
USA TODAY Sports

UC football notched its first commitment of the 2025 cycle on Thursday as Wayne (Ohio) tight end Kamaurri Smith is rolling with Cincinnati.

Smith is not yet rated on a major service and held eight other offers from schools like Kentucky and Purdue.

Smith missed four games due to injury this season and ended up posting 17 catches for 200 yards and two scores.

He is a long target at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds, and showed strong chops as a blocking tight end after converting from wide receiver. The junior can make plays from multiple alignments and show strong 50/50 skills on deep passes.

His wiggle at the snap isn't super strong but he can run a diverse among of downfield routes to pair with his size and strong hands. Smith gets physical at the top of those routes to help make up for a lack of top-end speed.

Add some size and Smith could be a solid addition to UC's lineage of tight ends.
