After the meet, LSU gymnastics coach Jay Clark talked about his team’s performance. He said, “Obviously, a tremendous performance from our team across the board. I thought we started out on fire on vault, continued that on bars and landed well most of the night…I certainly think we had a performance worthy of a 198 tonight…You worry sometimes with senior night and things like that if emotions can’t creep in and cause you to be distracted. I challenged them for the last couple days not to allow that to happen. And I gotta be honest, there were moments when they had me wondering, before the competition, but they really showed up and did a great job tonight. I’m super proud of them.”
Clark also spoke about Aleah Finnegan’s perfect ten score on balance beam. He said, “[It was] a beautiful beam set. She’s got that in her and we’ve seen it so many times over the years. Aleah’s beam is special when she’s dialed in…I’m thrilled for her…The quality of the work was exquisite.”
