Coco Jones Delivered 'Perfect' National Anthem At Monday's National Championship

It was recently announced that Grammy Award winner Coco Jones would perform the national anthem for this year's College Football Playoff National Championship between Ohio State and Notre Dame. Now that we've heard her sing, let's just say that was an excellent decision.

Jones, 27, is best known for her hit single "ICU." That song won her a Grammy Award for "Best R&B Performance." She was actually nominated for five awards during the 66th Annual Grammy Awards. With that said, she went away from her R&B roots to sing the national anthem in such a classic manner.

Once Jones finished her rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner," college football fans went on social media to offer their thoughts.

For the most part, people loved Jones' performance on Monday night. That's not a huge surprise considering she has an incredible voice.

"I've never heard of Coco Jones but this is a beautiful anthem," a college football fan said.

Another fan tweeted, "Coco Jones did a great job."

"Coco Jones bodied that anthem," a third person wrote.

"10/10 anthem by Coco Jones," a social media user commented.

"Coco Jones with the best anthem I've ever seen," a fifth person added.

Maybe we'll see Jones return for another national title game in the future. That'd be a wise decision by College Football Playoff officials.

With the national anthem officially over, the focus shifts over to the play on the field. Ohio State is a heavy favorite over Notre Dame despite these teams having equally impressive runs in the postseason.

Hopefully, this year's national title game lives up to the hype.
