The Ohio State Buckeyes got revenge on the Oregon Ducks in the Rose Bowl on Wednesday afternoon, as they cruised to a 41-21 victory to advance to the semifinal round of the 2024 College Football Playoff. And after this victory, Colin Cowherd delivered a bold take that will get Buckeyes fans pumped.

Ohio State suffered a tough 32-31 loss to Oregon during the regular season, and you could tell they were chomping at the bit to get back at their Big Ten rival. They raced out to a 34-0 lead before the first half was even over, effectively ending the game before the Ducks even had a chance to collect themselves.

While the world seemed to be falling in on the Buckeyes after their shocking upset loss to the Michigan Wolverines, they have now won both of their first two CFP games in convincing fashion. It led Cowherd to declare them the best team in the nation as the CFP narrows down to four teams remaining.

"The Buckeyes, this moment, are easily the best team in college football," Cowherd said on his show "The Herd."

It's been a rocky season for the Buckeyes, as they struggled to rid themselves of the narrative that they cannot win big games. However, they have won their two biggest games of the season, and they find themselves just one win away from making it to the National Championship Game.

There is still a lot of work to be done, but in a year where a true favorite has failed to emerge, Cowherd believes he's found the squad that will win it all. And after convincing wins over the Tennessee Volunteers and Oregon, Ohio State looks like a team on a mission right now.

With this win in the books, Ohio State will turn their attention towards their upcoming matchup with the Texas Longhorns, which is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 10, at 7:30 p.m. EST.
