Colin Cowherd Ranks Caitlin Clark, LeBron James and Steph Curry Without Hesitation

Colin Cowherd has been one of the fiercest Caitlin Clark defenders in the media since the former Iowa Hawkeyes guard made it to the WNBA as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 draft.

As Clark's popularity increased, so did the bad comments about her. Cowherd never backed down from defending the young star, while insisting that she was going to revolutionize the league in more than one way.

The FOX Sports analyst even compared Clark to global singer/songwriter Taylor Swift and the impact she could make on the W.

The 2025 WNBA season is still young, as Clark has only played four games, but she's already under the spotlight. Amid a left quad strain that will keep her sidelined for the next two weeks, Clark remains a hot topic around the league. Her popularity continues to reach new heights and some have said she's more popular than some NBA players.

During Tuesday's installment of his "The Colin Cowherd Podcast," the veteran analyst had a lengthy conversation with Nick Wright. Cowherd wondered how many NBA players are more famous than Clark, coming up with only two names: LeBron James and Steph Curry.

"In one year, out of women's basketball, for a horrible team when she arrived, outside of LeBron and Steph, she is the most well-known basketball player currently playing in the United States," Cowherd said.

Wright agreed and added more, saying that Clark must be the most famous basketball player under 30.

"She is demonstrably and unarguably more famous than all of this generation's NBA stars," Wright said. "LeBron is probably one of the 20 most famous people in the world. At a secondary level, there's Steph, and at a far different level, there's Durant. And the next active basketball person is Caitlin Clark."

Ever since her college days, Clark has drawn a lot of attention with her performances. She became one of the biggest phenoms in NCAA history with the Hawkeyes and now that she's in the pros, nothing has changed.

In a generation with NBA stars such as Anthony Edwards, Jayson Tatum, Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, among others, Clark's game has taken her to become one of the faces of the game.
