College Football Bowl Game Draws Embarrassing Crowd on Saturday

The final bowl game outside of the College Football Playoff kicked off to an extremely embarrassing crowd on Saturday.

While fans wait for the semifinal stage of the College Football Playoff, with the Ohio State Buckeyes, Texas Longhorns, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Penn State Nittany Lions fighting for the national title, the Bahamas Bowl held the spotlight.

The Buffalo Bulls defeated the Liberty Flames, 26-7, in Nassau, Bahamas, to finish the season with a 9-4 record. While the game was certainly a success for Buffalo, the crowd at Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium was decidedly underwhelming.

A social media account by the name of "College Football Campus Tour" posted a few photos and videos from the game, showcasing the crowd at the Bahamas Bowl.

There was an extremely limited number of fans in attendance. Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium has a seating capacity of 15,000 and was opened in 1981.

The final attendance was recorded at 4,610 people, the lowest number of fans at the stadium since the first-ever Bahamas Bowl in 2014.

While the Bahamas Bowl usually welcomes around 10,000 fans, there was one change that could have resulted in the limited capacity in 2025. All nine previous editions of the bowl game were scheduled before Christmas, but this season's Bahamas Bowl was held after New Year's Day for the first time.

Aside from the embarrassing crowd, the Bahamas Bowl highlighted a great season for the Buffalo Bulls.

They capped off the year as the No. 3 team in the MAC with a 6-2 record in the conference. Their 9-4 record marked the team's best winning percentage since 2018 when the Bulls were 10-4.
