On Friday evening in Las Vegas, the Pac-12 Championship took place for the final time, and it was quite the spectacle.
The game itself was the most-watched Pac-12 title game ever, and the performances by both No. 5 Oregon and No. 3 Washington were nothing short of spectacular. It was Washington who walked away with a 34-31 victory, punching their ticket to the College Football Playoff.
However, one of the more ironic stories of the game was the brief, and I mean brief, appearance by Pac-12 commissioner George Kliavkoff during the trophy presentation. Kliavkoff infamously was unable to round up a media rights deal or pull the trigger on conference expansion this past year leading to an exodus of 10 teams. USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington will be joining the Big Ten, while Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah are headed to the Big 12, and Stanford and Cal are off to the ACC.
While many fans were upset to even see him in attendance, others found his quick departure from the stage to be hilarious.
Here are some of the best reactions on social media to his appearance:
George Kliavkoff kept his back turned to the camera like when your mother had a death stare and you tried to scurry back out of the room like she didn’t already see you. pic.twitter.com/Gmm17pKwzb

George Kliavkoff just hiding on stage, handing the trophy and then bailing without ever taking the mic is the perfect summary of his time as commissioner
