With the college football season over for all but four teams, players are preparing for their futures either in the pro ranks, the next year of school or their career. One college football player in the latter category announced his retirement in a rather creative way.

Taking to social media this week, Washington linebacker Drew Fowler announced that he is declaring... for the job market. He announced that he is retiring from football, updating his LinkedIn profile and is now "#OpenToWork."

"I need a job," Fowler said in his post on X. "If you or anybody you know has an employment opportunity, I am your guy. Gritty, hardworking, sneaky athletic, locker room guy, will bring my lunch pail to work. My LinkedIn is updated, and I am #OpenToWork."

Fans on social media loved how creative Fowler was with his message and have been praising him for a job well done. Some in the comments have even offered him a job with their various companies already.

"Best cover letter I’ve read in 10+ years of hiring people," one user replied.

"My number one prospect for the business draft," another user joked.

"This is the absolute best tweet I’ve seen in a while. Everybody needs to repost this so we can get Drew a job," a third declared.

Fowler wasn't exactly Lawrence Taylor while playing for the Huskies from 2020 to 2024. In five years with the team he recorded 42 tackles and one tackle for loss.

But while he may not be the next Ray Lewis, Fowler certainly applied himself to his studies. He was a three-time Academic Honor Roll member in the Pac-12 Conference and was named to the All-Big Ten Academic this past year. The team even named him the special teams MVP at their postseason banquet, according to Athlon Sports.

It sounds like Fowler has a bright future ahead of him in whatever profession he goes into.
