
A standout college football running back has been hospitalized following a concert shooting over the weekend.
Ahmad Hardy, a sophomore running back at Missouri, is one of the best players in the country. He rushed for 1,649 yards and 16 touchdowns last season. As a freshman, he totaled 1,351 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Tragically, Hardy, who is from Mississippi, was the victim of a concert shooting in his home state on Sunday. Missouri has released a statement.

“Mizzou Football student-athlete Ahmad Hardy was the victim of a shooting at a concert in Mississippi early Sunday morning and sustained a gunshot wound. Ahmad underwent surgery Sunday in Mississippi and is in stable condition," the Tigers announced.
"Ahmad is deeply loved by his teammates, coaches, friends, family and fans. We will continue to stand beside him and his family through this difficult time, offering our love, prayers, strength and support. A timeline for his return to football activities is unknown at this time. Mizzou Athletics will provide more information on his status when it becomes available."

College football fans are hoping that Hardy will pull through.
"The best running back in the county got shot??? You cannot make this up man," one fan wrote.
"Prayers to Ahmad Hardy. What is wrong with people," one fan added.
"Omg. Stop shooting each other!!! Prayers up to Ahmad and his family. He’s such a good kid," one shared.
"Man. Hopefully this doesn't derail a very promising career. Hoping the best for Ahmad as he recovers," another shared.
