Colorado State vs Wyoming Prediction and Odds: Wyoming aiming for huge home win #6
Troy Babbitt-USA TODAY Sports

The Wyoming Cowboys (5-3) battle the Colorado State Rams (3-5) on Friday night in a Mountain West clash. Wyoming is on a two-game losing streak, recently falling to Boise State 32-7 on the road. They’re 0-3 on the road, but they’ll be glad to return to their home turf, where they’re 5-0. CSU has also lost two straight, losing to Air Force 30-13 previously. The Cowboys are 6-1 in their last seven versus the Rams, dating back to 2016, so we’ll see if they can keep up that dominance against their conference foes.

Team Spread Total ML
Colorado State +6.5 (-115) Over 41.5 (-105) +200
Wyoming -6.5 (-105) Under 41.5 (-115) -250

Key Stats

Colorado State

The Rams have done really well with their aerial attack, averaging 331.5 passing yards per game, the 5th-most in the country. They also rank 2nd in passing attempts and 4th in completions per game, so they are a team that goes very pass-heavy. When it comes to running, they average the 3rd-fewest rushing yards in the nation, so at this point, opponents know what’s coming.

CSU’s defense was pummeled by Air Force, allowing 261 rushing yards in the 17-point loss. Overall, the Rams haven’t been great defensively. They don’t give up a lot of passing yards per completion, but they struggle in other facets.

Wyoming

The Cowboys’ offense centers more around the run, coming in ranked 61st in yards per carry, which is decent. They rank 126th in total yards out of 133 FBS schools, which is concerning, and they complete only 14 passing attempts per game, which is the 14th-fewest.

On defense, Wyoming has done well versus the pass, ranking 27th-best in opponent yards per completion. They also allow the 44th-fewest passing yards, so we’ll see if they can contain CSU’s passing game.

Game Prediction

The Rams don’t have a good track record versus the Cowboys, and they have just one road win in four tries. Wyoming has dominated at home, but like other teams, they could struggle to deal with CSU’s passing game. Expect the Rams to hang and cover on the road, as they come in 3-1 against the spread in away contests.

Pick: Colorado State +6.5 (-115)
