Colorado’s Tristan da Silva earns Pac-12 Player of the Week honors

Colorado Buffaloes men's basketball forward Tristan da Silva was named Pac-12 Player of the Week, per an announcement on Monday. 

Da Silva took over in the fourth quarter of CU's 90-63 blowout upset over No. 15 Miami on Sunday. He led all scorers being just shy of a triple-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists. It was parts of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Brooklyn Showcase at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Colorado (7-2) was kept out of the Top 25 rankings despite pulling off the huge win over the Hurricanes. The third-straight neutral site win over a ranked non-conference opponent for Tad Boyle's Buffs. It was Da Silva's second-ever weekly conference honor. He currently sits on Watch Lists for the Naismith and Wooden National Player of the Year honors. 

Colorado returns home with momentum from the trip to the Big Apple. They'll host in-state rival Northern Colorado on Friday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m. at CU Event Center. The second-to-last non-conference affair before Pac-12 play starts. In fact, the Buffs will stay home for the holidays with on a four-game home stand to usher in games vs. Washington (Dec. 29) and Washington State (Dec. 31).
