Reports from multiple outlets confirm that Fiorentina defender Pietro Comuzzo has turned down a €35m move to join SImone Inzaghi at Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
According to updates from Sky Sport Italia , Comuzzo will not accept a move to the Saudi Pro League this window, as he would prefer to continue under Stefano Pioli at Fiorentina.
Al-Hilal, who submitted a €35m bid to sign Comuzzo on Tuesday, are now expected to turn to alternative targets on the transfer market.
Conveniently for Inzaghi and his team, the Saudi Pro League window will remain open until September 10, nine days after the close of the Serie A window.
Serie A sides will still be able to sanction sales to clubs whose transfer windows remain open beyond September 1, but will not be able to bring in any new additions themselves after that date.
Comuzzo, meanwhile, having become a regular in the Italy national team squad last season, is expected to continue with Fiorentina heading into the 2025-26 season.
He lined up as a starter for Fiorentina’s opening day draw away against Cagliari in Serie A last weekend, and also played the full 90 minutes of La Viola’s Conference League play-off first leg against Polissya last Thursday.
