There is a family connection between two of the most recognisable names in sport and entertainment.

Conor McGregor, the former UFC champion who held belts in two weight classes, recently appeared on a Roblox stream with his son.

The host had to issue an apology straight away after McGregor let slip an F-bomb early on.

During the stream, ‘The Notorious’ seemed to have some trouble getting used to the game. He joked that his character looked like rapper Ice Spice before mentioning an unexpected detail about his ancestry.

McGregor shared an unexpected detail after his eldest child was asked if he knew Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s son, Saint.

The Irish MMA star then chimed in, saying there is a family connection between his side and the Kardashians.

“We know the Kardashians,” he began by saying.

“They’re actually our cousins, would you believe?

“We’ve done a family tree, and it traces right back to the McGregors.”

McGregor then added: “Robert Roy McGregor was an ancient highland warrior of the McGregor clan we come from.

“And would you believe the Kardashians trace to him too!

“They’ve been at some of my fights, the Kardashians. Good people… Up the Kardashians if you are watching.”

McGregor set for UFC return after three-year layoff

‘The Notorious’ is gearing up for his first fight since breaking his leg in July 2021.

He is hoping to make his comeback at a historic event set to take place at the White House this summer.

The event, scheduled for June 14, will be held on the south lawn of President Donald Trump’s residence, marking a unique moment in UFC history.

While no fights have been officially confirmed yet, McGregor has been teasing a bout with Michael Chandler.

Although UFC CEO Dana White has yet to announce the specific bouts for the event, he did provide additional details about the show earlier this week.

“We literally just got done going through all the logistics of how to set it up there, how many people we can have,” the businessman said.

“It’s looking like we’ll have 5,000 people live on the White House lawn. It will be on the south lawn, and then across the street is the park, it’s called The Ellipse I think and we can have 85,000 people there.

“We’re going to have big screens and we’re going to have a stage. We’ll have music throughout the day.”
