As the whole basketball world continues to be fascinated by Cooper Flagg's skills and how they will translate to the pros, there has been plenty of discussions about his floor and ceiling as a player.
Naturally, the Duke Blue Devils forward has been compared to a number of players before, especially as fans and experts alike assess his potential. Names like Kawhi Leonard, Jayson Tatum, Franz Wagner, Jalen Johnson, Andrei Kirilenko, Kevin Garnett are just among the names mentioned in pro comps to get a full sense of Flagg's talent.
Interestingly, however, ESPN college basketball analyst Fran Fraschilla had a rather unique comparison for the Blue Devils forward.
As he took a look at Flagg's game tapes in preparation for the 2025 NBA Draft, Fraschilla shared that he couldn't help but think about Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter when watching Flagg.
The reason for the ESPN analyst's comparison between the two athletes despite the difference in sports is simple: they both can dominate on offense and defense. Hunter has established himself as both a deadly wide receiver and a lethal cornerback, while Flagg is heavily considered an elite defensive prospect who can also contribute on offense.
"Studying @DukeMBB Cooper Flagg this morning for NBA Draft & he’s even better than I thought," Fraschilla wrote.
"(Saw him live 3 times) He reminds me of @CUBuffsFootball Travis Hunter in that he is elite on both sides of ball. Ball skills for size are elite. And, he shot 44% from 3 in last 27 games. Very few weaknesses. VERY FEW."

Fraschilla added more praise for Flagg in his latest comments. While the youngster's offense leaves much to be desired, the analyst pointed out that Flagg's game is built for the NBA.
"Made for NBA offenses. Open court assassin, catch & shoot, 'stampede' drives off closeouts, pull-up jumpers, post-ups, face-ups off the lane, elite ball skills in tight quarters, finishes with both hands," Fraschilla highlighted.
It will definitely be interesting to see how Cooper Flagg develops once he makes it to the NBA. He's set to be the No. 1 pick, with ESPN projecting him to land with the Utah Jazz.

Why the initial CFP rankings are so important After a quickly moving first couple of months of the college football season, the initial CFP rankings will be revealed Tuesday night on ESPN. For a team like Notre Dame, with two early losses, the intrigue is off the charts regarding the Irish's initial ranking. The first CFP ranking and the last are clearly the most important. As for the initial rankings, they are critical because they provide the first look into the committee's selection process. You will find out what they value, who it favors or hurts, and why. Notre Dame finds itself in a very interesting position. The Irish's resume is very much in the eye of the beholder. How costly will the two early losses be? How impressive does the committee think Notre Dame's wins have been? How does the committee view two-loss Notre Dame vs two-loss Miami, who beat the Irish? Nobody knows, but we are about to find out. If the CFP rankings shadow the Coaches and AP poll, Notre Dame nation will be pleased with the initial brackets that have the Irish in the 10th position. If the committee has the Irish much lower than this, Notre Dame will need more help to make the field throughout the rest of November. Notre Dame has a great chance to win out Regardless of where Notre Dame lands in Tuesday night's reveal, the Irish have a very manageable schedule the rest of the way. They will be favored over Navy, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Stanford. While each of these games should be logged in the win column, some "pretty points", the kind Notre Dame didn't rack up against Boston College, would be very helpful for the cause. All of this stress and anxiety about the rankings, and the commensurate scoreboard watching as teams jockey for position, is exactly why Notre Dame cannot afford to not control its own destiny by losing multiple games. This needs to be the next evolution of Notre Dame under Marcus Freeman. Getting to November with CFP wiggle room to play with, something the program has not had in the last two seasons. The odds of a team like Notre Dame winning 10 regular-season games in a row like it did last year and is on track to do this year are rare. Notre Dame cannot live this way yearly and expect good results; the odds are simply against it working out. As for now, the nation waits to see what teams the powers that be currently favor, and from there, all Notre Dame can do is win four more games and see where the chips fall.
Jerry Jones has been outspoken all day on Monday that the Dallas Cowboys have a trade done, whether it be actually completed or still to be finalized by tomorrow on Tuesday. Now, reports are emerging as to who he could be referring to bringing to America’s Team. Per sources speaking to Jordan Schultz, Dallas has had several discussions about defensive players on multiple other teams around the NFL. That includes with the Cincinnati Bengals in looking into DE Trey Hendrickson and LB Logan Wilson as well as with the Miami Dolphins about OLB Bradley Chubb. Regardless of who it is, though, the belief is that the Cowboys will have added someone to their defense by tomorrow, which’ll come after tonight’s game against the Arizona Cardinals on ‘Monday Night Football’. “Sources: The #Cowboys have held trade discussions with multiple teams regarding defensive players — believed to be focused on pass rushers and linebackers — and the expectation is that at least one deal will be finalized by Tuesday, as owner Jerry Jones hinted today,” Schultz tweeted first. “My understanding is the #Cowboys have spoken to the Bengals on DE Trey Hendrickson and LB Logan Wilson, and to the Dolphins on OLB Bradley Chubb. They’ve had talks with other teams as well,” Schultz then quoted on that first post. “‘At least one deal is getting done somewhere,’ a source said.” On the radio earlier today, Jones revealed that Dallas had made a trade, and could make additional ones, going into the deadline on Tuesday. He didn’t say with which team and for who, though, in only saying that “immediately it will have him on the field” as a useful addition for the Cowboys’ defense. Jones has since reiterated that again going into kickoff tonight against the Cardinals in an appearance on ‘Monday Night Countdown’. “Well, I hope you will appreciate that since the deadline is tomorrow, the details are tomorrow…The idea is are we busy thinking about it or am I sitting up here thinking about the oil and gas or am I trying to build a team? That’s trying to get our defense ready to go. I’ve taken a little kidding about some of my comments recently about our oil and gas business,” Jones said. “But, seriously, this is the time when we have a chance to help the Cowboys. Any time that I can do that, we burn the midnight oil and there’s a good chance we’ll have some things to talk about tomorrow.” As for names, all of these would make sense for Dallas. That’s at least with Cincinnati and Miami being considered as teams who could see at the deadline, with the Bengals at 3-6 overall and the Dolphins even a game worse than that at 2-7 overall. For Cincy, Hendrickson has 16 tackles, 8 hits on the quarterback, 4.0 sacks as a team-high, a deflection, and a forced fumble while Wilson has posted their fourth-most tackles with 46, four deflections, and their unit’s lone fumble recovery. Then, for Miami, Chubb has 25 tackles, 7 hits on the quarterback, 4.0 sacks for a team-high too, and a forced fumble with a recovery. All of those could be welcome, productive additions for Dallas. That’s as the Cowboys’ defense is one of the league’s worst in, going into kickoff tonight, allowing 31.3 points and 404.6 yards per game – with them having a chance to buy and add something to fix some of those issues by the deadline tomorrow.
Cam Skattebo watched on as Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants dropped a third-straight game, falling to 2-7 on the 2025 NFL season after a 34-24 loss to Mac Jones and the San Francisco 49ers in Week 9. Now, the Giants will look to end the drought in Week 10, hitting the road to face Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears. Skattebo, the Giants’ fourth-round pick out of Arizona State, has been one of the NFL’s most exciting rookies this season. Through his first eight games, he recorded 410 rushing yards and five touchdowns, along with 24 receptions for 207 yards and two more scores. However, his season came to an end in Week 8 against the Eagles after he suffered a dislocated ankle, fractured fibula, and ruptured deltoid ligament. But the season-ending injury hasn’t stopped Skattebo from making business moves off the field. On Monday, the New York running back announced a partnership with Lovesac, a modern furniture company known for its “StealthTech” design, which integrates speakers and wireless chargers directly into its furniture. The company has previously partnered with several high-profile athletes, including Bills safety Damar Hamlin and snowboarding legend Shaun White. "Run through a wall, then relax and vibe on my Lovesac StealthTech," Skattebo said. "That's my gameplan." Included in Skattebo's social media post was himself relaxing on his Lovesac StealthTech, playing some NBA 2K with the surround sound on. "All the way up ," Skattebo wrote on Instagram. "@lovesac Sactionals with StealthTech surround sound takes gaming and relaxation to a whole new level #lovesacpartner" Skattebo now expands his business portfolio, which includes partnerships with big brands such as Nike, Raising Cane's and Logitech. And while he continues his lengthy recovery, awaiting his next shot in the 2026 NFL season, the Giants turn their attention next matchup against the Bears on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
The Detroit Tigers farm system is full of notable talent. Their top three prospects on MLB Pipeline have all climbed the minor league ranks together. Kevin McGonigle, Max Clark, and Josue Briceño continue to stand out above the majority, but not all other Tigers prospects. Even outside of Detroit’s top three there are very notable names to watch out for. Max Anderson has excelled this year and into the Arizona Fall League. Young bats like Bryce Rainer showed great potential before going down with an injury as well. One name however in the lower levels of the minor leagues stood out in a big way. In his debut season in the Dominican Summer League, Santo Domingo native Cris Rodriguez put together eye-catching production in 50 games. Rodriguez would record a .308/.340/.564 slashline in his first season of professional baseball. He flashed his impressive power all season, recording 10 home runs, 12 doubles, and 39 runs batted in during that 50 game stretch. Rodriguez was, in fact, the only Detroit prospect in the DSL to rank within the top 20 in home runs among all Tigers minor leaguers. It’s not a surprise that Rodriguez was able to showcase so much power this season. Among his scouting grades on MLB Pipeline, his power tool is graded as one of two tools with a 60-grade. Very high praise for a teenager who won’t turn 18 until late January 2026. He’d showcase some speed as well, recording 10 stolen bases to pair with the 10 homers. While the power output already is incredibly encouraging, there are still some areas where Rodriguez could use some improvements. Naturally for a 17-year-old hitting for power, the swing-and-miss concerns are there. Rodriguez showed an aggressive approach this season, swinging 57% of the time. If he can be more selective with the pitches he swings at, he could likely see his walk rate rise, as well as his contact rates go up, with less swing-and-miss. While the walk rate from 2025 was low, he did manage to limit the strikeout rate to 22.3%. Again, at just 17 years old, the approach is something that should refine itself more as he continues to rise up the minor league system. At 6-ft-3, 203 pounds, Detroit’s now No. 7 prospect on MLB Pipeline has managed to rise nearly to the top of the organization’s rankings. As current prospects continue to graduate, Rodriguez should only rise as well up the board of Tigers top prospects.
