The Cotton Bowl is still a go for the time being, set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Jan. 10 in Arlington, Texas.
But that is not to say there will not be a delay due to an unforeseen arctic blast that is se to come through. The Cotton Bowl itself released a statement on the impending weather conditions and how they could affect things moving forward.
“We are routinely monitoring weather reports and we are in close contact with AT&T Stadium and local officials,” the statement said. “We always have plans for inclement weather. Should conditions warrant it, we will communicate to everyone attending and connected with this year’s Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.”
Of course, playing in cold weather and a large amount of snow is something that happens in football all of the time. And, there is no question that Ohio State has no issue playing in the cold as the Buckeyes frequently play out in the elements.
But the concern would be travel, not the playing conditions. considering that they will be playing under the roof in Jerry World.
Based on the current forecast, the high temperature for Friday is currently set to be 38 degrees. The low is 30 degrees.
