Cowboys Draft Eagles Fan But Party’s Over

In the second round of the NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys added to Matt Eberflus' defensive line with Boston College edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku hearing his called.

Coming off a stellar 2024 season that saw Ezeiruaku be named All-American for his 16.5 sacks and 21 tackles for loss in just 12 games for Boston College, Donovan comes to The Star with an impressive resume.

But there's also a nice little side story that comes with him too - he's a Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Per ESPN's Todd Archer, at Ezeiruaku's draft party, several people in attendance were wearing Eagles gear, which he asked them to take off.

He also added that it was "cool" to see a Super Bowl win in his "last year" as an Eagles fan.

Hmm, this rivalry now adds another interesting layer to it.

With Micah Parsons born in Pennsylvania, and now Ezeiruaku an Eagles fan, the Dallas defensive line has some Philadelphia connections along it.

Of course, we know how much Parsons dislikes the Eagles and for Donovan, while he was a fan last year, he will quickly learn of the rivalry between the Cowboys and Philadelphia as soon as he steps into the building at The Star.

Another pick that has Brian Schottenheimer's character and leadership traits, as Ezeiruaku was a team captain last year, there is a theme here.

Both Tyler Booker and Ezeiruaku are considered top characters and will be key in driving Schotty's vision for this new-look Cowboys team.

And the kicker? He will get to go against "his" team, the Eagles, with the team that drafted him, the Cowboys.

Oh, how the plot thickens.
