Dallas Cowboys rookie right guard Tyler Booker's first NFL training camp is nearly in the books with the Alabama stud being as advertised.
Having put together good days in Oxnard, Booker got his first taste of NFL action against the Baltimore Ravens, and after being a little shaky early on by his own admission, Tyler settled into his groove.
And once there, he was a mauler in the run and pass game for Brian Schottenheimer.
But as his first training camp wraps up, what are his thoughts on it overall?
"I'm not going to put the cart before the horse, but it was a lot of fun," Booker said. "It's just really a dream come true. It's truly a blessing. The best part about it all is that I don't got to worry about school in a couple days, because when you finish training camp in Alabama, you get those two days where you don't have practice, you got a light practice, and you got class the next day. So, I'm glad I graduated already."
Well, there's no classes, Tyler, but you'll be in the classroom getting ready for Week 1 against the defending champions in the Philadelphia Eagles.
Having impressed in his outing against the Ravens, it remains to be seen if Booker will see the field tonight against the Atlanta Falcons or not. With roster cuts coming, the coaching staff might need to rotate players so they can be properly evaluated.
Either way, Booker has had himself a good start to life in the NFL, but the real stuff begins in two weeks.
