After getting off to a blistering hot start in 2025, the Tennessee Vols baseball program has a hit a bit of a rough patch over the last few weeks.

Tennessee has dropped its last three SEC weekend series -- two at home (Kentucky and Auburn) and one on the road (LSU).

The Vols are now 38-11 on the season.

For now, D1 Baseball thinks Tennessee will still host a regional when NCAA Tournament play gets underway next month, but the Vols don't have much room for error.

D1 Baseball currently has Tennessee as the No. 9 seed (the top 16 seeds host a regional). Their projection (as of May 7) is that UT will host a regional that includes Wake Forest, East Tennessee State, and Kent State.

Baseball can be a strange sport. The Vols are still an elite team, and the vibes could change and Tennessee could rattle off 10 straight wins at any time. Tennessee just needs to take things one game at a time. If they can get back on track and win a couple of series down the stretch, they will easily lock down a spot as a regional host.
