Dallas Cowboys' Pursuit of Deion Sanders Gets 'Frank' Update

Earlier this week the football world learned Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke with Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders.

ESPN's Adam Schefter revealed the conversation wasn't necessarily a job offer, which Sanders confirmed in his comments to the NFL insider.

"To hear from Jerry Jones is truly delightful, and it's intriguing," Sanders said earlier this week. "I love Jerry and believe in Jerry. After you hang up and process it, and think about it, it's intriguing. But I love Boulder and everything there is about our team, the coaches, our student body and the community."

While he loves Boulder, Cowboys fans are still on the edge of their seats waiting to see who the team's next head coach will be. NFL insider Ian Rapoport revealed the latest, including the potential of Sanders on the sidelines in Arlington, Texas.

Fans hoping that happens might want to look away.

"Okay, fine, I will talk about Deion Sanders - well, sort of," Rapoport started on his hit this afternoon. "He's been I'd say remotely linked to the Dallas Cowboys coaching search, which we've mentioned before. My understanding, no interview scheduled, or frankly expected, with Deion Sanders.

While he gave a discouraging update on Sanders, Rapoport did mention a few candidates for the job.

"But there is one on Monday, Leslie Frazier, interviews with the Dallas Cowboys. That is their last scheduled interview," he added. "They also talked to Robert Saleh in person over the course of the week, which would make you think the Cowboys know what they're doing. They're wrapping things up. I don't get that sense. I get the sense it's going to be the opposite. The Cowboys are expected to take their time and talk to more candidates. For instance, wouldn't be surprised if they end up putting in a request in speaking with Kliff Kingsbury, whenever he is eligible."
